Dubbo region

Enjoy the relaxed rural lifestyle of this major regional centre

Dubbo is among the most popular tourist destinations in New South Wales, hosting a wide range of attractions, events and festivals. Defined by a rich combination of both indigenous and pioneering history, Dubbo is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the city’s origins. Home to over 40,000 people, Dubbo contains a bustling CBD, filled with specialty food outlets, big brand stores, fashion boutiques and over 90 specialty stores.

Take a close look at the hundreds of rare and endangered animals at Taronga Western Plains Zoo or enjoy a relaxing walk through Dubbo Regional Botanic Gardens. Engage with Dubbo’s history at the Old Dubbo Gaol or view a selection of 5000 items telling the story of Dubbo at the Western Plains Cultural Centre. Explore Dubbo’s Aboriginal culture by viewing a Dendroglyph (carved tree) at the Western Plains Cultural Centre, as well as the 150 carved rock grooves at Terramungamine Reserve.

There is plenty for you and your family to see and do in Dubbo, so make sure you take advantage of all this historic city has to offer!
